Butternut

Butternut opened in 2009 and is the first of what is intended to become a West Country chain. The owners Claire and Nigel Harvey felt that there was a place in the market for an independent Coffee shop that provides exceptional service and a high quality product. It was felt that the national chains fail in this respect.Consequently, the coffee beans used are of the highest quality and roasted in Cornwall. The tea served is loose leaf and as well as traditional breakfast tea many of the more esoteric teas are available. Other drinks include hot chocolate, smoothies and milk shakesThe food offering consists of, amongst other items, gourmet soups, quality sandwiches prepared on the premises, large baked potatoes , salads etc. .There are a range of locally produced cakes and muffins.Butternut also undertake outside catering for local offices and will provide an exciting menu for all occasions.Butternut can be found at the Queen Street entrance to the Guildhall in Exeter
