Heart celebrates record sales and high listener figures

Business is thriving for Chamber members, the radio station Heart, who reported a 31% increase on year on year sales this September. Their last result from RAJAR revealed that they also have an impressive 6,000 additional listeners tuning in each week.

Sara Bond, Managing Director of Heart Exeter has recently been appointed as a member on the Chamber of Commerce Council. Sara says ‘It was an honour to be appointed as a member of the Chamber Council and I very much look forward to aiding our Chairman Derek Phillips and the other members by offering representation, information and guidance in order to support our objective of helping local business thrive.  I am extremely proud of our great City and look forward to being a positive voice and supporting our objectives through a number of channels to market.'

Derek Phillips, Chairman of Exeter Chamber said, ‘We're very pleased to welcome Sara to the Chamber Council and with her extensive business experience we look forward to her worthwhile contribution.' 

The local radio station recently introduced a new Charity Arm - ‘Have a Heart', which launched with Trek China 2010, inviting local listeners to trek the Great Wall of China.  Due to such an overwhelming response, Heart added extra dates to the event to accommodate the huge volume of participants. Proceeds from the trek will go to underprivileged children who live in the radio's transmission area of Exeter, Mid and East Devon.* The Chamber donated £1,000 to ‘Have a Heart' at the Exeter Business Dinner earlier this month.

Current Heart promotions have included a major new promotion called ‘Heart Makes It Happen' where listeners can win fantastic money can't buy prizes including recording their own CD, co-hosting Emma Bunton's Show on Heart and sleeping in Cinderella's Castle in Disney Land Florida. They are also offering the chance for listeners to have an up close and personal concert with Michael Buble.
