Land Rover Experience West Country is the premier training centre here in the South West for 4 x 4 off-road training.

Quite possibly the most exciting, fun packed, educational and challenging experience you can have on land. From a gentle slope, through muddy water to the toughest terrain, the whole driving time calls for full concentration. So are you up for it?

Amongst the multitude of activities, run across the 140 acre site with its own purpose built centre, is the corporate activities segment of the business.

TRAINING:

We are the off-road and terrain handling trainers for Devon and Cornwall Police and are accredited trainers to many organisations who have the need to drive off-road in the normal course of the day.

Our courses include meeting the needs of agricultural and commercial employees wanting to brush up their skills in off road environments or professional users meeting the HSE training requirements.

We offer training to equine and marine users of trailers who need towing skills, reversing trailers and a more technical knowledge of trailer handling.

Did you know the PUWER98 regualtions covers vehicles as well as machinery, appliances and apparatus for use at work (whether used exclusively or not)?
 
The primary objective of PUWER 98 is to ensure that work equipment should not result in health and safety risks, regardless of its age, condition or origin , to the user and to third parties.
 
If any person uses a company '4x4' (off road capable) vehicle or an ATV  in a work environment, then there is a requirement for adequate training for its use.

ADVENTURE:

A natural extension, to the activities of the centre, is giving the non-professional user an opportunity to experience off road driving in a fun and educational way. Always, with a strict adherence to guarding individual safety, and with a strong emphasis on environmental protection practices.  There is no requirement for participants to have ‘4 wheeled vehicle’ handling experience, but they must hold a UK drivers licence. The driving session is taken at a gentle pace and progress assessed (by the ‘on-board’ Land Rover trained instructor) within the considered limits of the individual, using the centres own latest models of Land Rover vehicles.

The progression of the course is tailored to the individual and those who show early competence will find themselves in the most adventurous sections of our 35 acre woodland area. You'll have a chance to experience one of the vehicles, a Defender, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery 3 or NEW Freelander - vehicles that really have been everywhere and done everything. And now you can do the same. What's more you'll be able to enjoy some truly beautiful surroundings.

After attending courses at LREWC, many participants ask about using their own vehicles. With agreement with other land owners, we have been given special access for 'environmentally aware' 4 x 4 off-roaders to take part and enjoy some more exclusive days, exploring new territory with us, in parts of Devon, Exmoor and Somerset. This is an opportunity for participants to use their own vehicles and be part of a small convoy drive and is ideal for those who have a sense of adventure.
