CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS GET INTO THE SPIRIT BY SPONSORING THE LAUNCH OF NEW ‘INN-SITE’ NETWORKING

Exeter based Haines Watts sponsored the launch of the Oddfellows Gastro Bar & Cocktail Lounge’s new venture, “Inn-site networking”.   The first event, “Pull a Pint” was well attended by young professionals from local businesses.  Merv Westaway, Master Brewer of St Austell Breweries talked about the brewing process, followed by a visit to the Oddfellows’ cellar, where co-owner, Yvan Williams, explained the journey of beer from cellar to pump.  Two brave individuals were given the opportunity to tap a barrel and then each guest pulled their own well deserved pint which was enjoyed with fellow networkers.  

Faye Williams Co-owner of the Oddfellows Gastro Pub and Cocktail Lounge said, “We like bringing London style events to the City particularly aimed at the local business community.  The existing networking events in Exeter are all of similar format.  “Inn-site networking” is a great way of networking socially and learning something interesting which makes it more fun, relaxed and memorable” 

Sarah Rowett Manager of Haines Watts said: “As with most companies, it is predominantly the senior partners who attend regular networking events and as a result become well known in the local business community.  I wanted to give the younger members of the Haines Watts team an opportunity to develop their networking skills in a fun and social environment where they felt comfortable.  The Oddfellows is an existing client and are very proactive in coming up with innovative ideas of raising the profile of their business.  This was a perfect solution to meet our business development needs and help support the Oddfellows launch this exciting venture and raise their profile.   The event proved a resounding success and the feedback has been tremendous.”
