AWARD WINNING WARWICK CORPORATE EVENTS ON TRACK FOR SUBSTANTIAL EXPANSION OVER THE NEXT 2 YEARS In the recent wake of two national AV (Audio Visual) and conference production companies going into bankruptcy, Exeter based event management & exhibition design company Warwick Corporate Events announces that they are on target to increase current turnover of £1.2 m by 60% and increase the level of employees by the same percentage over the next 24 months. Awarded ‘Northern Ireland’s Best Event or Festival of 2008’, the company operates with 12 full time employees from their Head Office on Marsh Barton with offices in Belfast and Cardiff. David Warwick Director of Warwick Corporate Events said: “Whilst others have chosen to ride out the recession by reducing services and facilities to their clients, we have decided to fight back with improved efficiency, commitment to clients and above all a positive attitude. This is based on the achievement of a successful, proven business model which is more sustainable in this difficult climate.” The increasing uncertainty in the market place coupled with staging suppliers in the local region withdrawing their focus and full-time presence in the area will leave a void which Warwick is looking to fill by offering all of these services. Future plans for the company include expansion across the UK using primes bases whilst maintaining the cherished relationships that have been developed in the South West and in particular Exeter. With no cross-hire or reliance on freelance staff and as the only large-scale outdoor staging contractor in Northern Ireland, the aim is to be the premier UK production company holding the entire event supply chain in-house. Future plans are to open additional outlets in Scotland, Wales and the South East as well as expanding further in Northern Ireland. This coupled with a solid relationship as the sole contractor with Northern Ireland’s largest independent hotel chain promises to offer Warwick an extremely positive and exciting long-term future. The company has a hectic schedule ahead with full responsibility for no less than five major high profile events organised across the UK all within a tight ten day period. Locally this includes the annual Chartered Institute of Housing conference and exhibition being staged at The Palace Hotel in Torquay. The event which is celebrating 25 years in 2009 has been stage managed by Warwick for over 10 years and in recognition of this David Warwick has been asked to officially open the show on 1st April followed by a champagne reception. Said David: “We work very closely with the CIH organising committee to create a competitive event which has a proven track record, whilst others struggle to keep going. Warwick has grown with the event and the relationship with CIH has shaped the company's direction. Together we have created a proven template which Warwick have been able to pass on to other clients. Originally attracting 100 delegates this conference has now grown to 500 delegates and over 70 exhibition stands. I am proud to be invited to open the event in recognition of the hard work and investment over the years and reflect the relationship that has been built.” This year’s special event has attracted eminent speakers including Ken Livingstone and Ann Widdecombe. David Warwick Director of Warwick Corporate Events said: “I have never felt more positive in my career than I am today. The business is on track to increase turnover and double in size based on sound business sense with traditional values. The reason why we are so successful is as a result of hard work, a dedicated and experienced team resulting in repeat business as well as word of mouth referrals. The recession will naturally have an effect on local businesses, the key however, is to diversify and invest in other areas and as a result we have built up both full electrical and shell scheme divisions. I am always a strong believer that as a company owner you should not rely on borrowing from the Bank, live within your means and to build the business yourself. This philosophy has helped Warwick Corporate Events not only to ride out the current storm but to sail through and I am very excited about our future.” www.wce.co.uk
