What is the Plymouth and South West Peninsula City Deal?
Agreed in January 2014, the Plymouth and South West Peninsula City Deal is focused on increasing productivity and growth in the region.
The Deal aims to:
- Lever £300million of investment into the region’s marine and advanced manufacturing sectors
- Create over 9,000 jobs
- Support over 1,500 young people into employment
For businesses there is a substantial business support package, supported by £24million of public and private sector money to help existing business flourish, as well as attract new investors to the region.

A key element of the Deal included the setting up of the Peninsula City Deal Growth Hub to co-ordinate business support, and make it as easy as possible to access. The Growth Hub, delivered in partnership by GAIN, collects into one place everything and everyone businesses need to know to help them grow.
