Street Food Market Goes Weekly at the Guildhall Shopping Centre
Eating out in Exeter is about to get a whole lot more exciting, following the announcement that the street food element of the Guildhall Shopping Centre’s monthly Exeter Innovations Market is to go weekly.
Offering a range of street food from around the world, created by selected producers, the weekly Exeter Innovations Street Food Market will launch on 8th, 9th and 10th March and will start its weekly outing from 22nd March when it will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Street Food Market has an array of freshly-prepared food for under £5 – making it a great stop over for visitors to the city and local workers.
The offering is as international as it is delicious: Buen Appetito serves paella; Burrow Farm has locally-bred Ruby Red beef; Taco Macho creates authentic Mexican food; Tim Golder produces great sweet treats and pastries; and The Cauldron prepares various wraps, delicious lamb dishes served from a bubbling cauldron, and other tasty delights. And these are just a selection from the mouth-watering choice on offer.
Karen Smith, who founded the successful Exeter Innovations Market, said: “The street food element of the main market has always been popular, and after asking shoppers and stallholders their views we decided to make it a weekly event. There will be delicious food available from regulars, and we will be ringing the changes with new faces too: in July for example we will be visited by chef Darran Ridley. Darran was Gordon Ramsey’s development chef, has worked at Buckingham Palace and is currently the executive chef on the cruise ship Queen Victoria.”
The launch weekend will feature a visiting magician on the Saturday and Sunday and a visit from Pennywell Farm on the Saturday. The skating rink will also be open.
Andrew McNeilly, centre manager at the Guildhall Shopping Centre, said: “Making the Street Food Market a weekly attraction is hugely exciting and a development which we welcome. It’s a great opportunity for visitors to the centre to enjoy delicious, fresh and locally-produced food at a price that won’t break the bank.”
