Several Exeter Chiefs players popped in to visit their main and first team sponsor South West Communications Group before the kick off to the 2012/13 season.
Two of the Chiefs' new players - prop Carl Rimmer and lock Damian Welch - were introduced to South West Communications Group's group engineering director Brian Lodge before being given a guided tour of the company's headquarters at Communications House in Sowton.
Exeter-based South West Communications Group has been a provider of telephone systems, data networks and Internet services for nearly 30 years. It has sponsored Exeter Chiefs for nearly two decades with the 2012/13 season being its 19th as main sponsor.
Rimmer and Welch were accompanied by lock James Hanks and flankers Ben White and James Scaysbrook for the tour that included the telephone system demonstration suites, South West Communications Group's purpose-built data centre and the boardroom where Exeter Chiefs shirts from every season are displayed.
Hanks said: "I have played for Exeter Chiefs for seven years and have worn the ‘s w comms' branding throughout that time but have never visited Communications House before or learned a great deal about what South West Communications Group actually does.
"South West Communications Group is one of the most loyal sponsors in the sporting world in terms of longevity and actual support. It was good to meet the people behind the branding; many of whom come to watch us play on a regular basis."
