Exeter Junior Chamber has delivered business skills training to over 100 young business men and women in 2015. Over the past year, the group, a sub-committee of Exeter Chamber of Commerce and Industry has run training on topics including presentation skills and self-management with the seminars led by local training consultant and business coach, Judy Salmon.
Judy said: “It is great to see so many young business people willing to learn and develop important skills which are needed for business. There is a great pool of talent in the next generation of business leaders in Exeter and I thoroughly enjoy meeting them, discussing what is required for their current and future roles and enabling them to confidently grow into who they want to be”.
Exeter Junior Chamber launched in February 2014 and acts as a voice for young business people between the ages of 20 – 35. It encourages young people in the Exeter area to network and build their own contacts within the local business community.
In June this year, Susannah Bower from WBW became chair of the group, taking over from founding chair Peter Lewis-Bending from Francis Clark.
Susannah said: “Junior Chamber is a great asset within the business environment in Exeter helping those just starting out to develop and succeed in their chosen careers. I am excited to take on the role of chair and will work with the team to develop an exciting and interesting programme of training and events for 2016.”
To get into the festive spirit, Exeter Junior Chamber are holding a Christmas Networking evening on Thursday 17th December at the Magdalen Chapter hotel. From 6pm onwards, guests will be able to enjoy a glass of wine and canapes and catch up with friends and colleagues. Young business people are invited to come along and find out more about the group.
To book a place to attend this networking evening, priced at £18 for non-members and £14 for members including VAT, please call the Exeter Chamber office on 01392 431133.
