Hundreds of people representing Devon businesses large and small gathered at Sandy Park for the 2017 Express & Echo Business Awards on May 12.
There was a real party atmosphere at the home of the Exeter Chiefs, with 12 awards being handed out by Trinity Mirror South West editor in chief Bill Martin and television presenter Alexis Bowater. Before they took to the stage Devon cheesemaker Mary Quicke gave an inspiring talk about her family business and there was a welcome address by DevonLive editor Patrick Phelvin.
Judges named Sandy Park as the 2017 Business of the Year. It wins a Trinity Mirror marketing package worth £10,000. Accolades also went to innovative entrepreneurs, talented creative companies and Devon manufacturers who have built successful export businesses in the county.
Each received high-quality steel awards created by Van Guard – the company named last year’s Express & Echo Business of the Year.
