INTRODUCING THE PANEL

Tony Rowe OBE
South West Communications Group was started up in Exeter, Devon, in 1983, by the company’s chief executive offi cer and chairman Tony Rowe OBE, as a provider of business telephone systems. Since then, they have grown, both in size and technological expertise, to meet an ever-changing demand. Tony is also the chief executive and chairman of Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club, who play in the Aviva Premiership. Tony was awarded the OBE for services to business, sport and charity in the 2012 Queen’s Birthday Honours List and has since received an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from University of Exeter as well as being given the Freedom of the City of Exeter.

Robert Camp
Robert Camp is an entrepreneurial Managing Partner of award-winning law fi rm, Stephens Scown. Since his tenure in 2011, the Firm has doubled in size with turnover of £19.3m and c.300 staff and emerged as one of the leading law fi rms in the South West. Being a visionary leader of a traditional professional services fi rm has been challenging but Robert’s infectious enthusiasm and clear vision has ensured change in the Firm’s culture and brand has happened over a relatively short period of time. Robert was instrumental in implementing our groundbreaking employee ownership programme “Scownership”. Stephens Scown ranked 16th in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For 2017.

Howard Davies
Howard started out his career working as a management consultant, and since then has held a number of roles working in technology and marine leisure as well as starting several small businesses in a variety of sectors. Most recently Howard co-founded Salcombe Distilling Co (who produce the award winning Salcombe Gin) which has enabled him to combine his interest in the distillation of spirits, love of the coastal town of Salcombe and long held desire to create an exceptional product in Devon.
