If you employ an EU citizen or a non-EU family member of an EU citizen, they may be eligible to apply for the EU Settlement Scheme if they want to stay in the UK beyond 31 December 2020.
The EU Settlement Scheme will allow them and their family to continue to live, study and work in the UK. It means they will continue to be eligible for:
• public services, such as healthcare and schools
• public funds and pensions
• British citizenship, if they meet the requirements and want to apply.
The government have provided a comprehensive toolkit which is available to employers and equips them with the right tools and information to support EU citizens and their families to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme.
The EU Settlement Scheme will fully open by 30 March 2019. EU Citizens will be able
to apply until 30 June 2021 and their rights will remain unchanged until then.
