The Business Recovery and Insolvency department of Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants has been further strengthened by the arrival of experienced insolvency specialist, Kerry Austin.

Kerry, who joins the firm as an Insolvency Manager, started her career in professional services at a leading South West law firm before training at a national insolvency practice where she spent eight years handling a range of personal and corporate cases.

She said: “I’ve always known Thomas Westcott to be an excellent firm offering the full range of accountancy and business advisory services and, in particular, its business recovery and insolvency offering headed up by Jon Mitchell.

“When the opportunity arose to join and work with Thomas Westcott I had no hesitation that it was the right move for me and I am excited to work with the team here providing clients with the very best advice and services possible.”

Kerry added: “Working in business recovery and insolvency you are often face to face with business owners who are experiencing difficult and stressful times and are required to make prompt key strategic decisions relating to their businesses.

“I find it incredibly rewarding to be able to provide business owners with the professional advice they need and to explore the options available for their businesses.’’

Jon Mitchell, Partner and head of Thomas Westcott’s Business Recovery and Insolvency service, said: “Whether it’s through referrals, or simply that more business owners are finding themselves in distress, we are seeing a rise in demand for our services and Kerry’s appointment further strengthens that offering to clients.”

He added: “Throughout her career to date Kerry has demonstrated her incredible drive and commitment to excellence and we couldn’t be happier to welcome her to Thomas Westcott where she can continue to develop her skills and progress her career.”
