Exeter-based charity WESC Foundation, which provides specialist services to support young people with visual impairment, has announced details of its 2019 Charity Golf Day. This year’s event – the fifth to be organised in partnership with ITEC, the South West’s leading Technology Managed Service Provider – will take place on Thursday 9th May 2019 at Exeter Golf and Country Club.
Teams of four from local businesses, charities, clubs and other organisations are invited to take part, with proceeds from the day supporting children and young adults with visual impairment and complex needs.
Jon Duckham, Fundraising Manager for WESC Foundation said:
“The Charity Golf Day continues to go from strength to strength, raising over £12,000 over the past few years. With this support we have been able to fund a range of activities and additional services for our students, and give them access to a range of therapeutic and social experiences beyond our Exeter campus.
Peter Ong, ITEC Exeter Account Director, said:
“We are proud to be returning as sponsors for a fifth year. It’s a great event that brings businesses from around the city together for a bit of friendly competition, as well as raising money for an important local cause.”
Entry fees are £200 per team, which includes 18 holes of golf, refreshments on arrival and at the 10th hole, as well as a meal at the end of the round. More information about the day, including booking forms, opportunities to ‘sponsor a hole’ and details of how to donate to WESC Foundation, can be found online at www.wescfoundation.ac.uk
WESC Foundation is based on the edge of Exeter, and many of the charity’s beneficiaries come from around the South West. In addition to an education for school and college-aged students, there is also an adult day provision, supported living accommodation, residential care home and a network of social enterprise charity shops.
ITEC drives organisations to success with powerful technology strategies and partnerships. It employs 300 staff across ten locations, including sites in Exeter and Plymouth.
