Leading public relations consultancy Glen King PR announces a merger with South-West digital and marketing agency Bigwave media. The two agencies have been working in partnership over the last 18 months in order to offer a wider range of services and, from 1st April 2019 will officially join Bigwave Media.
Glen King PR, a media-award-winning consultancy, was founded by Glen King in March 2005. As a former media spokesperson for Camelot, Glen was actively involved in the exciting and historical launch of the National Lottery in 1994, holding the position of Deputy Regional Centre Manager SW for eight years. The company works with a diverse portfolio of clients across a large number of sectors, with a specialist knowledge of construction and renewable technology.
Glen said: “For over a year we’ve been working collaboratively with the Bigwave media team in order to offer a full-range of PR and marketing to our joint clients, which has proved a huge success. It seemed the right time, therefore, to officially join this larger firm, to offer increased resource and expertise to grow our combined client base. The agency is well established with an excellent reputation in the marketplace, and Glen King PR is absolutely thrilled to now officially be part of the team.” She adds: “We will be operating from Bigwave media’s head office in Exeter and it’s the start of an exciting new era. I’m very much looking forward to continuing the long-term relationships developed with my clients for many years to come, whilst also providing a wider range of support.”
Bigwave media, established in 2007 with a turnover of £3m, has three offices across Devon, employing 45 staff working in Exeter, Torquay and Plymouth. The creative growth agency provides innovative and cost-effective marketing, design and digital services for companies both large and small. Its focus is on achieving great and measurable results for its 200+ clients, across a diverse range of sectors, including leisure; bio-tech.; manufacturing; food and beverage; culture, education and finance.
Benn Davis, Managing Director Bigwave media said: “Bigwave media offers a complete range of in-house resource tailored to all marketing needs for effective online and offline campaigns, however, do not have expertise in traditional PR or event management. The partnership with Glen King PR has worked extremely well to help clients get maximum reach for their budgets and greater access to experienced professionals within the South West. It was a natural next step, therefore, to officially merge to bring the two businesses under one roof.”
He adds: “The Glen King PR brand is well-known and highly respected across the region and I don’t think there is anyone in the local area who does not know Glen, who is a prolific networker! She has developed a meaningful, long-term and close-working relationship with the South West media spanning 25 years and has an enviable portfolio of contacts and connections. We are absolutely delighted with this merger, which will expand the offering we can provide to both existing and new clients.”
Simon Beer, Digital Director Bigwave media concludes: “From 1st April Glen King will be Director of PR, and Micá Flynn Account Executive of ‘gkpr@Bigwave media’ based at our Exeter office. We will ensure the transition of the merger goes smoothly and want to offer our assurance that there will be a seamless continuity of the personal and great service Glen King PR already offers to their loyal client base.” He comments further: “We’re delighted to officially welcome Glen and Micá to the team. All our staff are very much on board with the new merger and are looking forward to working together to expand our services.”
