As part of Mental Health Awareness Week (13th-19th May 2019), city-centre arts charity Exeter Phoenix is playing host to a range of free activity and events, with a focus on community and wellbeing.
With activities taking places across Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May, this will be a welcoming, supportive and inclusive weekend, bursting at the seams with events. Expect laughter yoga, walking groups, theatre, exhibitions, talks from the University of Exeter, panel discussions, open mic, circus skills workshops, art workshops, dance classes, wellbeing training sessions, acoustic performances, poetry and monologue workshops, and more.
Speaking about the weekend, one of the event’s organisers Dettie Ellerby said ‘We are delighted to offer such a full programme of activity to raise awareness of issues around mental health. None of this would have been possible without the kindness, support and enthusiasm of members of the wider community who have generously donated their time, resources and expertise. With access to all events being free, we invite the community to make the most of these events, and will ensure that everyone feels welcome and included, whether you are attending on your own or with a group.’
The weekend’s activity has been kindly supported by the University of Exeter’s Wellcome Centre For Cultures & Environments of Health.
Activities take place at Exeter Phoenix (Gandy Street, Exeter, EX4 3LS) from 10am on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May. Find a full timetable of activity by visiting the website: https://www.exeterphoenix.org.uk/events/mha-2019/ or calling the box office on 01392 667080.
