As part of Stagecoach South West`s commitment to their customers and stakeholders, they have produced a second Consultation Plan, following the successful launch of last year’s 2019 plan. The Route Consultation Plan for 2020 sets out aims for the coming year as well as offering an opportunity for the public to actively participate in the bus route planning process for Stagecoach routes in the South West region.
On-going work with key stakeholders such as Devon County Council, other main local authorities and employers has helped to shape the bus network in a way that encourages modal shift, social inclusion and makes the bus a viable alternative to the private car.
Mike Watson, Interim Managing Director of Stagecoach South West said: “After the success of last year’s Consultation Plan we are excited to be presenting our aims for 2020. We have engaged both customers and other stakeholders in the planning process, allowing us to make relevant changes to meet the needs of our customers. We are keen to gather as much feedback as possible from the public as they are at the core of everything we do.”
The Consultation Plan sets out proposed network changes for the Stagecoach South West operation. The key aims of the plan are:
- To offer both earlier and later journeys to meet shift patterns
- To improve the reliability of services across the whole network
- To change various key city routes to maintain connections, whilst improving the speed and frequency of the service
- To propose access improvements for key business districts across the South West
Stagecoach welcome stakeholders, employers and members of the public the opportunity to respond to The Consultation Plan.
