Accountancy firm Andrew Price & Co has announced Rowcroft Hospice as its charity of the year for 2020.
The firm, based in Torquay, is committed to helping their local community and hopes to raise funds for the hospice, which supports more than 2,000 local people every year.
The hospice aims to make every day the best it can be for people with life limiting illnesses and their families across South Devon.
However, providing this service comes at a cost of almost £7.8 million a year to the hospice, of which 70 per cent comes from donations from the public and businesses, such as Andrew Price & Co.
Andrew Price, Managing Director of Andrew Price & Co, said: “When faced with helping a loved one through palliative care, it is the work of hospices, such as Rowcroft, that can make all the difference.
“We feel honoured to be raising money for this incredible local charity and hope that the community gets behind us to help make more people aware of the fantastic work that it does.”
To help raise money for the hospice, the firm hopes to hold a number of events during the next 12 months as it attempts to reach its £1,000 fundraising target.
Lisa Whittaker, Corporate Fundraiser at Rowcroft Hospice, said: “We are delighted to have Andrew Price & Co’s support this year. We have a well-established and varied events programme at Rowcroft, as well as volunteering opportunities and attractive sponsorship packages. We’re confident we have something to suit everyone’s taste! We are looking forward to a successful year in partnership.”
