Cybercrime in Devon and Cornwall
Posted on: October 1st 2020
Section: Member news

Cyber-crime is a Tier 1 threat to National Security and criminals will exploit any opportunity they can. In light of the current pandemic, we are now seeing an increase in phishing scams, sextortion (webcam blackmail) and other cyber related crimes occurring across our area.  However in general terms, cybercrime is a very under-reported crime.

We are here to help you and your communities.

Our role involves conducting workshops, training sessions and presentations to groups and businesses across our counties – all free of charge.  Due to the current pandemic we are delivering a lot of what we do virtually, but over webinar or in person, our sessions are always tailored to the nature of the business we deal with and based on the latest advice and guidance from the government’s National Cyber Security Centre.
