Exeter City Council Business Grants Update
Posted on: January 14th 2021

The team are working hard to get all the available grant funds open for application as quickly as possible.

There are now in excess of 8 different funds that we will be administering, and these are all listed, along with links to application forms where available, on our dedicated web page.

There are 4 schemes currently open for applications as follows;

  1. Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) - Sector which applies to businesses that have had to remain closed since March 2020 i.e. nightclubs, dance halls or adult entertainment.
  2. Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) - Closed Addendum which applies only for the period of national lockdown that was from 5 November 2020 to 1 December 2020 and is a one-off payment to businesses with a business rates liability who were mandated to close at that time.
  3. Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) - Closed which applies only from 2 December 2020 to 30 December 2020 to businesses who have a business rates liability that were mandated to close due to tier 2 restrictions being in place.
  4. Christmas Support Payment for wet-led pubs a one-off payment of £1,000 for pubs that derive under 50% of their income from food sales.

On Tuesday 5 January 2021, The Chancellor announced new lockdown grants to support businesses. This includes top up grants for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses worth up to £9,000 per property to help businesses through to Spring, and a discretionary fund to support other impacted businesses.

Please do not contact the Council at this time for more information as detailed guidance has not yet been released by the Government to Local Authorities.
