Exeter Chamber of Commerce’s Sustainable Business Network has teamed up with Devon County Council to provide a free event giving businesses information on how to save money on fuel by changing a few simple things. The free event, to be held at County Hall in Exeter on 14th November between 9am and 1pm, will offer information and practical advice helping businesses to cut costs and make time efficiencies by reducing business travel, fleet travel costs and staff commuting. Throughout the morning, information will be provided on funding sources to finance the above.
Speakers for this event will include Sungift Energy, Lloyds, Co-cars, Max Driver and Cosmic Ethical IT.
In a world where customers are demanding a faster and rapid customer service and your staff are juggling their work life balance, Cosmic Ethical IT will tell you about the reasons why flexible working can work in your favour as a business. They will also showcase the products which can help your business do this and with superfast broadband, cloud technologies, teleconferencing, videoconferencing and Devon Work Hubs the possibilities are endless!
Exeter based car club, Co-Cars will be showing delegates the benefits of being a member and how easy it is to use their services to cut travel costs. Lloyds Bank will be discussing what ‘no travel week’ means to them and Max Driver will be telling attendees about their driver training for fleet drivers and how they can help enhance personal driving skills to reduce fuel and vehicle costs.
Sungift Energy will be showing off their solar van which is wired to a conventional house distribution board that supplies electricity to 240 volt sockets, while also charging a battery bank so it can supply continuous electricity for more than eight hours.
November’s event will also give attendees a chance to pledge to take part in ‘Anywhere Working Week’ which will be taking place in March 2014. Anywhere Working is a group initiative which has been established to show how remote working can increase your productivity and save the environment.
